Our Team
Elders & Wives
Chris & Tor
Chris is Freedom Church’s Lead Elder, having felt called to move to Liverpool from Leeds with Toria in 2013 to plant Freedom Church. They have been married since 2003 and have three children and, more recently, a dog! Chris runs his own business and Toria is a qualified teacher, and oversees our Baby Basics project. The family love playing games and opening up their home to guests – where Toria can always be relied upon to provide an amazing meal!
Matt & Becky
Matt and Becky moved to Liverpool in 2014 to be a part of Freedom Church. Between them they have 3 kids, one medical degree, a great love of the outdoors, and really enjoy good times with good friends. They deeply love everything about Jesus, his word, his Church, his mission and his Spirit, and long to play their part in helping others come to share in the joy of knowing him. Moving to Liverpool and seeing what God has done as they have helped begin Freedom Church, has been one of the greatest family adventures they have been on so far and they can’t wait to see what he will do next as the church grows.
Chris & Debbie
Chris and Debbie are native scousers who were delighted to move back home to Liverpool to help plant Freedom Church after living in Leeds for over a decade. They met when they were 16 and have been going strong together ever since! Chris works full time for Freedom Church as a Staff Elder. Debbie is a keen crafter and is setting up her own paper cutting business. She also runs the Freedom CMA project for Freedom Church, offering free debt advice to anyone who needs her help! They’re kept very busy by three young kids - George, Chloe and Jacob - all of whom Chris is raising to have a life of misery, sharing his passion for Everton FC.
Pete & Jenni

Phil & Sarah
Phil & Sarah were both born and raised in Liverpool and love this great city! They have both been part of the staff team since 2019, Phil joined the eldership team in 2022 and they recently got married in August 2023! Together, they oversee youth, students and twenties in the church as well as having separate responsibilities for worship and kids work. They love getting out and about, music, and spending quality time with friends and family around good food and a board game!
Our Board of Trustees hold legal, financial and governance responsibility for the organisation.
